El Dr. Rubén Orillac realizó sus estudios de primaria y secundaria en el Colegio La Salle de Panamá.

Es egresado de la Universidad de Panamá a la facultad de Medicina donde se graduo en 1972 como Doctor de Medicina.

Completó su residencia en oftalmología en el Hospital Gorgas en el año 1979 donde trabajó por un período de 20 años.

Fundó la Clínica Orillac en 1983 y se asoció con el Dr. Ernesto Calvo en 1993 haciendo la actual Clínica Orillac-Calvo.

Es presidente y miembro fundador del Centro de Cirugía Ocular desde 1992.
